Cimone is one of the most family-friendly winter destinations in the Apennines. Besides the beginners’ areas at the various starting points, the mountain has three play areas reserved for the youngest, where children can enjoy the snow even if they cannot ski.
At Lago della Ninfa, above Sestola, there is Cimonlandia, run by Scuola Sci Sestola. On the Fanano side, Baby Park Cimoncino welcomes children close to the Cimoncino slopes, while at Riolunato the Lago delle Polle baby park has inflatables, a tubing run and a sledge run.
From Passo del Lupo there is a sledge run about 700 metres long with a 120-metre drop, described as the first in the Apennines. Only sledges approved for the run are allowed, and children under 125 centimetres must be accompanied by an adult.
